Question
Dear Sir and Madames, my girlfriend is kyrgyz nationality. She will have a tourist-visa for the Schengen-area. Is she able to exit Kaliningrad (Russia) via the border check point of Nida? Or is this a "too small" checkpoint? Another question is: i saw at http://vokzal39.ru/bus-klaypeda.html that there is a bus #384 going from Kaliningrad to Klaipeda. She wants to use the bus from Zelenogradsk bus station (wednesday, 17th May) Is this a daily route? I can't find any information about. Kind Regards from Germany Sascha
Answer
Your girlfriend can leave the Kaliningrad region through any border checkpoint including “Morskoe – Nida”. Regular bus 384 “Kaliningrad – Klaipeda” (through Zelenogradsk) runs on a daily basis.
Question
Hello I am a British citizen temporarily living in Berlin. I am travelling to Gdansk (by British-registered car) and would like to also visit Kaliningrad for 2 days in my car. Is it possible for me to get a visa in Berlin without going back to the UK? Thank you
Answer
To visit the Kaliningrad region, you should get a tourist visa at place of your residence in advance. As for getting visa in Berlin, if needed, you should consult Russian Embassy in Berlin to discuss your case.

Question
Dear Sirs and Madames, we are three students from Vienna who would like to visit Kaliningrad on our travel through the baltic states mid of April. We plan to get our visas from the embassy or visa service agencies in Vienna before leaving. If we travel to Klaipeda, is there public transport from there to the border and on to the city center of Kaliningrad? If not, is there transportation possibilities on the Russian side of the border on the Curonian Spit? Thank you very much in advance. Warm regards, Julie M.
Answer
To get to Kaliningrad from Klaipeda, you can take bus that departs in accordance with its schedule and arrives in Kaliningrad City centre, i.e. to Yuzhny Vokzal Station. Address: 7 Zheleznodorozhnaya str, Kaliningrad, Russia. You can see the schedule here.
Question
Hello, I travel often to the Russian Federation (Moscow, St. Peet Kaliningrad and Vladivostok) I now want to visit Kaliningrad with my car instead of by plane. I have a 2-year visa so that isn't a problem. I wonder if I am allowed to drive with a European registered car into Kaliningrad oblast to visit my customers in the Kaliningrad city? Met vriendelijke groet, with kind regards, С наилучшими пожеланиями. Erik V.
Answer
If you are an owner of the car you are travelling by, you can enter the Kaliningrad Region.
Question
Hello, I would like to enquire about getting a short term Visa for visiting Kaliningrad. From the beginning of June, myself and my girlfriend will be doing a cycle tour of Northern Europe, starting in Berlin, going through Poland and continuing through the Baltic states to Estonia. We will be on bicycles only and camping will be our accommodation. I come from Ireland and my girlfriend is German. Would the visa requirements for this type of visit be the same as if we were crossing into the larger part of Russia or are they different? We would like to spend approximately four days in Kaliningrad and cross over from Poland on one end and then exit through to Lithuania. Thank you, Matt
Answer
For the reason that the experiment on issuing 72-hour short-term tourist visas to visitors of the Kaliningrad Region has been cancelled, you should apply for tourist visas to Russian Consulate at place of your residence in advance.
